Ok. So basically, what spurred this on was that yesterday I was kind of angsting on Twitter about how, despite having just under 13 years' worth of singing training, I felt like my skills were kind of slipping - I still sing publically every 2 weeks but it's been a while since my last one-on-one singing lesson with a teacher (I paused due to money issues). I know that since then my diaphragm strength has weakened somewhat, my range has also shrunk a little, and my lung capacity too ... gods, I need to do more breathing & vocal exercises at home.

So today I decided to try to brush up a bit by doing a small recording exercise - mind you, I hate hearing recordings of my own voice X__X but that torture is part of the exercise, because I want to get better. I also felt that sharing it here might open myself up to necessary criticism, especially because I seriously need to improve A LOT - so be it.

tehcrayonofdoom also promised me that she would send a recording of her singing if I sent her one :D so here you are sweetie, just don't kill your ears listening to it. Can't wait to hear yours.

After the huuuuge delay, we finally managed to have the Gakuen Heaven photoshoot that we'd been planning for ages OTL. Unfortunately we lost our Niwa (to jetlag) and our Shunsuke (to a stomachache) on that day, but the two of us and whoever else is willing to come will shoot separately with them later on so they won't miss out on the lovin' <3

I think this must seriously be one of the best (if not the best) photoshoots I've ever been a part of. It's not only because everyone was so freaking hot =P but I've had the most fun on this day than I've had in a while. Love you guys!

... No, seriously. eur0philia and I are co-organizing a Trinity Blood cosplay group for Sydney Animania 2010, and we’d like very much for any of you guys to come join. I think for most of us, costumes of this level will be an exceptional & inspiring challenge? It’ll be a great experience for anyone who has been interested in cosplaying from the fandom :D

I know I told a few of you that this was gonna be for SMASH but Christie was right: our huge costumes/props will be too big for SMASH >_>;; so Animania it is.

It's been a crazy few months, but finally con season is oveeeeeer omg. No more stress!sewing for a while! I had a 7-hour nap today, that felt so good after a whole month of sleeping 4-5 hours per day. Now I can come home from work and actually rest, watch videos and read yaoi (lol) instead of sewing like a crazy person XD

To summarize the last month in one paragraph: Silver & I went to Melbourne for Manifest and that was our first interstate cosplay, which was a pretty good experience :D And then, pretty much straight after we got back to Sydney, we were assaulted with Animania with way too little time in between oh noes DX

Back from Manifest, which was an awesome experience! I feel soooo relieved now (even though I accidentally ripped both of my Genkishi sleeves and have to remake them to take shots with itakoaya, my Sydney Byakuface) and it was incredibly fun to meet so many new people and take part in an interstate cosplay con.

We've heard a lot of bad things about Manifest in the past and came to the con anyway without expecting anything good really ... but we were surprised at how organized everything was (despite the comp running late, which happens I guess)

This isn't a con report, will write one later, but in the meantime:


- A huge thank you to cielrose and k_chan009, my Melbournian Byakuface & Mukuropants, for letting me & Hibari-kun join your amazing, amazing TYL KHR group. It's an incredible honor to cosplay with such wonderful, talented and awesomely kind/friendly/supportive people. It was so good to meet new cosplayers via the group too! I'm only sorry that I was a rather fail Gen-chan (I'm gonna fix up parts of my costume the next chance I get lol, I sewed it in too much of a hurry I think). It was, without a doubt, such a memorable experience. One day we should all cosplay together again!


- An equally huge thank you to my Espada family for joining the group, co-operating with such openness, being so friendly / easy to work with and DOING A KICKASS COSPLAY. It's unbelievable how pleasantly easy this group was for me to organize (especially with our Cirucci's help! ♥) and how amazing the results were. I couldn't have been more grateful to work with cosplayers like you; you've made this group totally unforgettable. And this might sound sappy but I feel a lot closer to all of you. Next up is the proper photoshoot in the sand dunes!


- And I can't forget Silver, who organized our Bakuman group (even though our plane was delayed and everyone except our Mashiro only got to wear the cosplay for like, one hour :P) and rayfy, both of whom have been real helpful and supportive over the weekend. I feel like my cosplays (and my HOLIDAYS) aren't complete without you guys. :D Thanks for always being ready to help, giving me advice & opinions, and for making this holiday so fun and enjoyable! I can't wait for my next holiday and my next cosplay with you guys.


BY THE WAY, before I end this entry, I need to tell everyone that I lost my cellphone at the con - either that, or it was stolen :( I'm waiting to hear from con staff as to whether or not they found it, so that hopefully I can ask them to send it to me. However, I may need to buy a new phone if they don't find it - meaning my number will change and I'll have to update all my contacts again. Be warned! D:

Yet another SMASH aftermath post XDD but SMASH this year was awesome, as always! Best con of the year. ♥ It was so good to see everyone and their sexy, sexy cosplays; love you all! Silver made a lot of really cute stuff to sell at her stall in the Artist Alley this year (I'm in love with her Elizabeth LAWL) and seemed to get some pretty good sales, which was awesome! Be sure to check out her selling post on dA for leftovers if you're interested in buying :3

On the Saturday I finally got to cosplay Sanada Genichirou from PoT, who I've wanted to do ever since I got into the fandom. Thanks for inviting me to cosplay with you guys <3 Our only regret is that our Yukimura, jyo_y (we love you!), suddenly couldn't come to SMASH at the last minute D: but otherwise we had a full team:

Gakuen Heaven Shoot :'(

Most of you already know that the Gakuen Heaven photoshoot that was scheduled for this weekend has now been delayed to SUNDAY OCTOBER 11TH due to circumstances that couldn't be helped. I wanted to apologize to the photographers on behalf of everyone - sorry about this. (It's sad that it's been pushed back 3 months, but at least I'd finished my Kazuki costume, so I don't have to think about it!)


Espada Group Meeting

--is scheduled for this Friday at 6pm at Ajisen Ramen (across Paddy's Markets) to discuss COSTUME PROGRESS, SKIT and PHOTOSHOOT. So far everyone's coming except for rayfy who has his weekly BFF Friday with Eric :P bubblefire I know you're sick so could you let me know if you're coming or not? It's okay if you don't. (In fact, are you still coming to Manifest? Have you got your HSC timetable?)

I'll send around another email tomorrow just in case Steve some people accidentally miss this entry again :P


Deimon Group Meeting

--is scheduled for Sunday August 2nd, so please keep that date free, fellow bats ♥ more details to come. That will be a sewing day for our costumes & also for SKIT and PHOTOSHOOT discussion. I left a message with our Hiruma & Sena and am waiting to hear back from them to see if it's alright to come to their house to do the mass sewing. Will give you an update once they tell me :) But basically are all of you alright with this?

Back from Japan on Tuesday, and although we've only been there for 2 weeks it felt more like 2 months. I've missed you, flist, hope you've all been well ^_^ Certainly have been missing out on some fun meet ups from what I've heard =P

Okay, first and most importantly:
CHANGES TO SILVER & RAY'S PARTY ON SUNDAY!!

Instead of dinner, we will be having lunch instead. It will be at the same restaurant (Red Chilli SiChuan), but lunch will be cheaper. Afterwards, we can go get some yummy dessert and just hang for a bit :)

So updated details of the meeting:

When: Sunday 19th July, 10:30am - about 4pm.
Where: Darling Harbour, Chinese Gardens, just outside the entrance. Then lunch at around 1:30pm at Red Chilli SiChuan in Chinatown followed by dessert.
Dress: Chinese Theme.
Bring: Your wonderful selves ^_^

Onto other probably less interesting news, I just started working on my blazer for Gakuen Heaven today. Hurray \o/!! Will be going to Harmony's place on Friday so I can get help on the tie and other stuff =)

On the other hand, I still need to start on SMASH! stuff. So screwed for it ;_; My table will be empty at the rate I'm going... Does anyone know where I can get those round ball keychain thingies that you can adjust the length of?

And since it's past midnight already ... today will be a good day, and not just because HP is out ;D
